Serdar Gunaydin, MD is a Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery. Prof. Günaydin graduated from the Ege University, Izmir, Turkey and from postgraduate studies at the University of Birmingham, Great Britain and the University of Leyden, Netherlands. His specialization degrees as a Cardiovascular Surgeon he obtained from Gazi University, School of Medicine, Ankara-Turkey and Heinrich Heine University, Dusseldorf, Germany (DAAD Scholarship). Besides his PhD in Histology & Embryology from Gazi University he also did a PhD in Tissue Engineering & Biomaterial Science at Heart Institute of Japan, Tokyo Medical College, Japan (MONBUSHO Scholarship). He currently holds a Professorship and is working at Department of Cardiovascular Surgery Ankara City Hospital, ,Turkey.

Dr. Kalaca started his professional life as a general practitioner in a small-town health center in the Black Sea Region, Catalzeytin in 1989. After his residency training in Ankara was an expert and field trainer in Mother & Child Health at the Ministry of Health,  a delegate of the Turkish Medical Association (TMA), vice president of Turkish Family Physicians Association (TAHUD), and led the Family Medicine Department at Marmara University Medical School.   

For many years, Cagri has been intensely involved in establishing and progressing medical education and ethics and patient rights, leading and working in numerous groups and committees, both in academic and non-academic organisations, and collaborated nationally and internationally with organizations; public as WHO, MoH, medical associations, municipalities; and the private sector, including pharma, finance, GSM operators, FMCG companies.

Most recently, Cagri has been Executive Board Member of EFPC European Forum for Primary Care, an international organization aiming to improve the health of the population through advocating, the transparent exchange of data and evidence in Primary Care.

Rabia is Senior Technical Advisor for Pharmaceutical Policy and Governance of SAFEMed, Ukraine. While working full time, Dr. Rabia continues to remain as one of the Directors of International Health Technology Assessment Society (HTAi), the past-Chair and steering committee member of HTAi Developing Countries Interest Group with members in over 50 countries, Chair of the HTAi Medical Devices Interest Group and the Chair of Eurasian HTA Initiative with institutional members from 9 countries. Prior to her position in SAFEMed, she was the Director of a Hospital-based HTA Center in Turkey that covered HTA, innovation for medical devices and real-world evidence. In Turkey, she also served as a member of the Pharmaceuticals Reimbursement Committee of the Turkish Social Security Institution during transition to universal health coverage and was one of the co-authors of the reimbursement guidelines; the National Clinical Quality Coordinator of the Turkish MoH with the coordinating task of all activities around HTA, clinical guidelines and clinical quality; and the President of Turkish Evidence-Based Medicine Society. She is a professor of family medicine by background, with additional trainings in Italy, Spain, Canada, and the USA. She is recognized as an editor of eight books and the author of over 150 articles.

He is also the recipient of several national and international Awards, including (MSD-Health Prize 2018, DGTHG Publication prize 2018, DGCH Julius-Springer-Award 2017, DGAI Franz-Koehler Inflammation Award 2016, ESA Dräger Prize 2016, Lohfert-Prize 2014, DGAI Karl-Thomas-Prize 2013, IARS Clinical Scholar Research Award 2010.
