Susan Goobie

Susan Goobie, MD, FRCPC is an Associate Professor of Anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School with an interest in craniofacial, scoliosis and neurosurgery. She has expert knowledge in blood conservation methods, coagulation disorders, anti- fibrinolytics, anemia and pharmacokinetic research.She is a section editor for Pediatric Anesthesia and an executive editor, blood management section, for Anesthesia and Analgesia. She serves on the research committees of the SPA, IARS and CAS.She is Director of the BCH Pharmacokinetics Laboratory and the BCH Blood Management Program. She is the chair of the International Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery Perioperative Group and the chair of the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management research committee. She is an internationally recognized expert, and is an investigator/consultant on several largemulticenter trials in the area of Pediatric Patient Blood Management.
Susan was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. She lives in Boston with her husband and 3 children; Emily (16), Maxwell (14), Julia (11) and a golden retriever puppy (Twix). She is an active skier and cyclist.
