Simsek Erdal, MD, is an cardiovascular surgeon at the University of Health sciences Ankara City Hospital in Ankara. He was born in Ankara where he completed his all education. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1996. He received the title of associate professor in 2015 and the title of professor in 2020.
Adult cardiovascular surgery and treatment of peripheral vascular diseases are of special interest. He is particularly interested in minimally invasive heart surgeries. In recent years, he has been involved in the Enhanced Recovey After Surgery (ERAS) program and patient blood management. He took part as an assistant researcher in the national project on stem cell application in ischemic heart diseases.
He is a member of the National Society of Cardiovascular Surgery. He served as an observer on minimally invasive heart surgeries and mitral valve repairs in various countries in Europe.
