Sergey Marchenko

Sergey Marchenko, MD, is the cardiac surgeon at the Pavlov First St. Petersburg Medical University. He was born in Saratov, Russia and has got primary medical education in the Military Medical Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia. Cardiothoracic surgery registrar, Peter Kuprianov cardiovascular surgery clinic, Military Medical Academy (2002-2015). State Pediatric Medical University, Neonatal center, cardiac surgeon (2012 – 2018). Head of cardiac surgery in Pavlov First St. Petersburg Medical University (2018 – till present). Member of teaching and research stuff of the Pediatric University of Saint Petersburg, Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, Medical Military Academy. Member of Medical Board of Eurasia Heart Foundation. Actively participate in educational Eurasia Heart activities, providing surgeries for complex cases in different russian hospitals as well as abroad. Such an approach allows him to share knowledge and practical experience.
His personal interest is education in cardiac surgery and he is involved in teaching fellow residents in his department. His field of scientific and clinical interest is bleeding management based on POC tests.  Successfully completed dissertation on «Reconstructive procedures on atrioventricular valves» to obtain the scientific degree of PhD. He is a member Member of the European association for cardio-thoracic surgery, Russian association for cardiovascular surgery.
