Hande Gurbuz MD, is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Reanimation at the University of Health Sciences, Bursa School of Medicine. Dr. Gurbuz received her medical degree from Kocaeli University (2006) and completed her residency in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Katip Celebi University, Izmir Ataturk Training and Research Hospital (2011). She will soon complete a Ph.D. in Anatomy at Kocaeli University. She passed the European Diploma in Regional Anesthesia & Acute Pain Management (EDRA) part-1 exam and now pursuing an EDRA Diploma.
Dr. Gurbuz is currently working in Bursa City Hospital and serving as an instructor in Anesthesiology and Reanimation residency program. Her passion and main interest remain in regional anesthesia, acute pain management, orthopedic anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, and pediatric anesthesia. She defined a new technique of surgical superior hypogastric plexus block. She published many papers focusing on pediatric regional anesthesia (including premature neonates), regional anesthesia techniques, acute and chronic pain management, neuroanesthesia, and neurocritical care.
Dr. Gurbuz is an educator in the Turkish Society of Regional Anesthesia (RAD) and the Asian Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists (ASPA). She is a member of The European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA), the European Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC), the Turkish Anesthesiology and Reanimation Society (TARD), and the ERAS Turkish Society (ERAS).
