Fernanda Paes, MD was born in Santo André – Brazil and received her M.D. from Severino Sombra University in 2004. She worked as a general practitioner for 6 years and during this time she did a postgraduate course in Intensive Care Medicine before progressing to specialise in Anaesthesiology. In 2013 she finished her residency at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo and began work in Santa Joana Hospital and Maternity. In 2020 she joined the Intensive Care team at Samaritano Hospital.
Her fields of scientific and clinical interest include maternal and faetal care, in particular obstetric anesthesia and management of postpartum perioperative bleeding.
She is also an instructor at the Realistic Simulation Center at Santa Joana Hospital and Maternity, providing training for hospital staff.
Dr. Fernanda is married and has two children.
