Federico Mileo MD, (Fede Mileo) is an anaesthesiologist at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires in Argentina and a current fellow for liver transplantation and major visceral surgery at Clinic Hospital in Barcelona. He was born in Buenos Aires city, where he graduated from medical studies at the University of Buenos Aires in 2015 with honors. He completed anaesthesia residence at Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires in 2020. Meanwhile he developed a deep interest in coagulation and bleeding management. In 2019 he did an observership at University Hospital of Zurich focusing Patient Blood Management. In 2022 he received the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care from the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intesive Care.

His personal interests are major visceral surgery mainly liver surgery including transplantation, education in anesthesia, point of care and laboratory tests in haemostasis and bleeding management at different clinical settings, and the development of cognitive aids for this purpose. He is a member of Buenos Aires Aneaesthesia, Analgesia and Reanimation Society and European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care.

In addition he works intensively in collaboration with the hemostasis laboratory and transfusion medicine department at his institution to optimize diagnostic and therapeutic resources for the management of perioperative bleeding and performing different related investigations.

Fede has developed along Ezequiel Kataife MD the Haemostasis Traffic Light, a pragmatic tool for bleeding management and published several related studies in collaboration with Zurich University Hospital Anaesthesia Department.
