Berrin Gunaydin, MD, PhD is a Professor of Anesthesiology at the Department of Anesthesiology in Gazi University School of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. After completing her medical degree at Ankara University in 1989, she did her anesthesiology traineeship (1989-1994) and pharmacology PhD (1994-2000). She has been working in Gazi University since then.
She has been the chair of Obstetric Anesthesia Subcommittee of the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation and Vice Coordinator of Obstetric Anesthesia Education Course affiliated by Continuing European Education in Anesthesiology since 2016. As an active member of European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA), she is the senior deputy of Hospital Visiting Training Accreditation Program (HVTAP), Trainee Exchange Program (TEP) host and Online Assessment (OLA) center host of her department. Additionally, she is one of the Online Trainee Assessment Exam Coordinators of the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation.
She is the chair of Ethic Committee of Clinical Researches in Gazi University. She has recently become a member of Blood Transfusion Committee of Gazi University Hospital. She has been appointed as an executive representative in National PBM Guideline Committee by Turkish Ministry of Health on behalf of Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation.
She the editor of Obstetric Anesthesia for Co-morbid Conditions published by Springer in 2018 and one of the co-editors of Turkish Obstetric Anesthesia Textbook published by Medyay in 2019. Additionally, she has written chapters on obstetric anesthesia for Turkish Anesthesia Textbooks and authored/co-authored a number of papers in peer reviewed journals.
