Agnieszka Wiklinska MD is an anaesthetist/ specialist in transfusion medicine. Dr Wiklinska grew up in Bytom, Poland where she completed schooling. She graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. She obtained specialty titles in anasthesiology and intensive therapy and in transfusion medicine in Specialistic Hospital No 2 in Bytom, Poland. Due to her interest in transfusion medicine and anaesthesiology she started working in Provincial Specialistic Hospital No 4 in Bytom, in Anaesthesiology Department as well as in a hospital blood bank. From where she was recruited to the Regional center for blood donation and blood treatment in Raciborz, Poland, where she ran education program in blood treatment for doctors and nurses. After 2 years, for better clinical practice in transfusion medicine, she started working in Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, Poland and as an anaesthetist focused on blood treatment and perioperative coagulation management in the area of cardiovascularvascular surgery. Currently she leads online courses on transfusion medicine for phisicians registered with Polish Medical Chamber, works in East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
